How long does it take to get through set I ? It mostly depends on the frequency you are studying it, and your learning environment, but it generally takes about 2 years to complete.
I am a homeschooler, what age group can I start using Lingua Latina with my children? We have seen homeschoolers start their children on it as early as age 8.
Can I still buy the Familia Romana with the orange cover? On occasion, we do have a few copies of the orange cover come into stock, and they are typically discounted because they are considered “used”. Please feel free to email are interested in checking availability on any used copies of the Lingua Latina series.
I don’t want to buy all five books in Set I, what is essential? Most people, who do not purchase all five books in the set, simply purchase the main text, “Familia Romana” and the exercise booklet, “Exercitia Latina I”. It’s really a matter of personal preference.
Is Roma Aeterna available in Hard Cover yet? Not at this time, but if there is enough of a demand, we may print it in the future.
Do I need to have completed set I before moving on to set II? One does not need to do LL 1 to go to LL 2. It can be used for a survey of Latin in its own right.
What pronunciation are the CD Rom’s read in? The Classical pronunciation.
Who is doing the audio reading on the CD’s? The author himself, Hans H. Orberg.
Are the exercises on the “Lingua Latina: Exercitia Latina I” the same as the exercises in the book, “Exercitia Latina I” ? Yes, there are no additional materials on the CD that are not in the book itself.
Why do you have “Latine Audio” in addition to the “Familia Romana” CD-Rom? We recommend the “Latine Audio” CD for those who may have a Macintosh platform, or those not interested in the “interactive” part. It is an audio recording for those interested in hearing the classical pronunciation read out loud.
When is the MAC version of “Familia Romana” going to be available? The author has told us that it is due out this month, June 2006. Focus should have it in stock, available to ship in July 2006. It will also contain material for Roma Aeterna as well.

What supplemental reader would you recommend I use in conjunction with the Lingua Latina materials? Colloquia Personarum. It is designed to be used with Book I and it has all sorts of fun things to like dialogues and little plays you can do with the vocabulary that is in the book.
Do I get a discount if I purchase all of the books in each Set, or if I buy in bulk? There is no discount for purchasing the set, we offer all of the books to be sold separately and individually. The price is the same whether you purchase one copy, or 100 copies.
I don’t live here in the U.S., who would I purchase the Lingua Latina books from? Please see our Int’l buying chart to locate the company that sells in your territory, and email us if you have any questions.
I live in Canada, can I buy the books from Focus Publishing? Yes, we do not currently have a Canadian distributor, but you may purchase the books from us directly, by using this order form and faxing or mailing it to us, or by emailing with your order. We do not currently offer online ordering for those outside the U.S.

Can I order the books through my local bookstore? In most cases yes. Our books are currently distributed by Ingram and Baker & Taylor, both of which are major distributors for most local bookstores. You may want to bring your ISBN’s and our Phone #, to help out the bookstore. They can certainly special order the books from us, to receive in store, for you to preview before purchasing.
